There are some fantastic Blogspot blogs out there. But all too often I see fantastic content laid out in a cookie cutter style theme that I have seen 100′s of times before. I decided to make it my mission to find some well designed and unique blogspot blogs to showcase. Below are 12 Blogspot blogs that have either unique or well designed themes:

Nobs Tutorials

IT Log

Your Jobs

Popcorn Not Included

Music From The Pants

Simon So

Bicycle Design

The Brand Builder

Blogger Templates

There are some good ones there Simon. I don’t think they are in order though. Stumbled.

Thanks for the Stumble Mani. Yeah, no particular order.

  • November 21, 2007 at 1:03 pm |

@Simon: Wow.. Thanks.. One request though, can you change the name of the link to “Electric Itlog”?.. Itlog means “egg” in Filipino, and “Etlog” is a play on the spelling of itlog.. ^_^

  • November 21, 2007 at 1:38 pm |

Well well what can you say about my design? I’m on blogspot too! :)

Great list… I too have been noticing all the identical blogs..

I think its probably cause blogspot comes with a fairly limited default set of templates.

  • July 29, 2008 at 7:02 am |

Hei, I think Firewalker template is cool =)

  • September 8, 2008 at 9:16 pm |

I can barely believe it’s Blogspot blogs! These are clearly talented people and maybe I’m being cynical but why bother? Why bother showcasing your skills when it’s not marketable? I’m assuming people use blogger is because it’s free. I guess maybe they are downloadable themes to get backlinks but I also think that blogspot people might not be as sophisticated to use other themes other than the generic ones? That’s a gross assumption on my part but maybe I’m just brainwashed by the fact that people with their own hosting are more “serious”.

  • September 18, 2008 at 10:48 am |

Nobs tutorials looks awesome. Who knew you could take a free blogging platform and make it look so good? Just goes to prove that even free blogging platforms like Blogger can be used to create a great online presence.

  • September 20, 2008 at 4:31 pm |

I have to admit those are some great blogspot designs. I am suprised the people did not use a wordpress blog but i guess it shows how good some people are no matter who hosts blog or what type of platform it uses.

Is it worth changing from a wordpress to a blogspot engine. Is it better easier to keep and install?

  • Rob from Gadgets
    February 19, 2009 at 6:57 pm |

LMax brings up a good point and I tend to agree. To me, people who use blogspot are newbies, just getting their feet wet. I’m guessing these pro blogspot blogs are guys who have stuck with them so long they’ve decided to become more professional but don’t want to make the switch to a new platform because they’d have to change url’s. But why do they bother? Unless you’re able to monetize them seems like a waste of time.

  • June 30, 2009 at 11:35 pm |

I love the Food for Design one, the color is nice. And the issue you discuss is even worse with the wordpress free blogs, when there are so many nice designs why use the plain old default one?

I didn’t like these so much, I think because this post is 3 years old, a lot of things have changed. Nowadays to create a good design you need to spend more hours and put more work into it.

I like Simon So and All The Best website. I am a big fan of free-hand drawing and those colors are just what I love. Raw and not ‘technologized’.

All The Best’s website seems like it resembles France. ‘Je t’aime!’

These are really inspiring! Too bad, some of the sites aren’t the same as the ones you’ve posted here. Some had changed. But nevertheless, it still boosts me up to make a cool blog design.

Those are some great blogspot blogs, just wondering though why stick with the free hosting when at anytime your blog can be shut down for any reason and you have no control over it, I would take those design skills over to my own domain name ;0 Good stuff though regardless.

Because I am a bit tired of having problems with the CPU and all that jazz….I don t think wordpress.com would be a solution for me for its lack of flexibility I can not use google adsense or any affiliation programmes…thank u for your advice :-)
