Hi Simon,

I find that interesting. Getting inside an exclusive network of webmasters who really care about establishing cordial online relationship with other webmasters while promoting their niche is something promising.

This connects how I view linking for our sites. Building links does not go like tapping the webmaster and saying “Hey, can we exchange link?” and really ask for reciprocal links. It is important to really consider a lot of factors, aside from page rank, relation to other’s niche versus yours, etc.

I really find it more inviting to know that you can freely promote your site and get to know them better before even asking for a possible online collaboration because I put more premium on getting one way links, rather than reciprocal.

But of course, if the content is really superb and the niche is related to one of my sites then I would also find a way to help spread the word. Now that’s more of a great online relationship between webmasters instead of just exchanging links.

I have been using this service since it first came out, and if you are wondering if you would get penalized for using it then think about this.

You are number 2 in the Serps for your keyword, you can’t get number 1. So you join this link network and use their URL, thinking you are going to hurt their rankings, when really you will just make it stronger.

Although this is a good way of avoiding link farming will Google end up peanalising this aswell?

Seems like a good idea to get around google hatred of link farms. However I simply can’t afford to lay out $12 per month or $120 per year, as I’m not a commercial site.
