Here’s an invite to a private beta of a new social media service "Qassia". Qassia is a social media service to promotes your blogs. It offers SEO friendly anchor text of your choice for links to your blogs, and your blog listing is ranked based on how many people you refer. Kind of like a pyramid scheme. You get 500 funny dollars for each referral, and by the looks of it you need a few referrals to rank well. I guess the idea is to get in early if you think this service may be a success and see how it plays out. You need to use the invitation link above to join as the service is still in private beta stages.

The month of February 2008 came and went and I just realised I never got around to making a new post on Pingable for the whole month. I have been busy starting a new job, which has kept me away from my blog a lot. When you spend all day looking at a PC sometimes it can be a chore to come home and do more on your PC. I also was unfortunate enough to break my laptop, I dropped it on the screen, so I only have shared desktop to use at the moment.
What have I learnt from my blog?
Well the page rank for Pingable is finally something I am proud of, PR 4 isn’t bad. I only noticed this a few days ago. Although one of my posts has had a PR of 4 for some time.
I tried the advertising network blgads, I put the ads up for…
Everyone knows about YouTube. It gets millions of hits a day. So scoring some of that traffic and making money from it seems like a pretty good idea. Now before you read on be aware that this method might be considered unethical by some. So if you are easily offended by online direct marketing ideas, maybe now is a good time to stop reading…
Make Money with YouTube - The Method
The method I used was to upload popular music videos. I would then place a hyperlink in the description of the video to a page on one of my web sites (you can use a blogspot blog also if you like), which would re direct to a CPA offer that gives away complimentary ring tones. The offer I used would require people to enter their cell phone number, and subscribe to a monthly service, and only accepted US traffic, but there are…
In certain niches including the niche this blog falls within you can run into problems when using Adsense.
1) Your readers may be savvy and recognise Adsense blocks, and they don’t click on them.
2) None of the terms which relate to your topic/ niche are very competitive, and so even if readers click them, they only pay very little.
3) A large percentage of your traffic comes from social media sites which lowers your CTR (see smart pricing).
4) You don’t want to alienate your readers by placing large Adsense blocks at the top of your articles.
So what do you do? How can you make good money from Adsense on these types of blogs?
Are you one of those Adsense users who gets 4-5 clicks a day and only makes 21 cents?
Courtney Tuttle writes about Adsense smart pricing. If you are displaying Adsense on a site that doesn’t have a higher click through rate (CTR) than 3%, you are at risk of having Smart Pricing applied to your Adsense commission. Smart Pricing is a system that Google use to ensure good value for their advertisers. It is estimated that your Adsense commission can be reduced by up to 90% if you are in the smart pricing category, so if a click paid out 40c to a normal user, it will pay out 4c to a user who has been smart priced.
I had been using Google Adsense on Pingable for a few months with very little success. I had read about how hard it was to get clicks on ads in blogs that are about…
